Live and in studio

Saturday, April 8th between 10-12pm (central time), that's 11-1:00 east coast, Nick, Anthony and I will be playing 2 live 30 minute sets on UT radio. It is a thrill for me, as always, to get a chance to play with Nick and Anthony, but this is even better because it will be broadcasted live over the internet as well. That means all of my friends, family and relations can listen to one of our shows at the same time no matter what town you are in! Just go to the link and click on the bandwidth you wish to listen at and enjoy! Just as a disclaimer, the radio show is called "Cocked in the barrel" and it is a rap show. As most of you know, rap is not what we do, so you'll have to go through some stuff you might not like in order to get to us, but it'll be worth it.

Dan,

From now on, the measure of our friendship will be the fucking god awful rap shit I had to listen to while waiting to hear you on the radio. That's how much you mean to me.

And it cracks me up to think of the middle-class college boys in their dorm rooms singing along to all the "motha-fuckin-nigga-pimp" lyrics. I think the first five songs all featured people, I mean, niggas, getting shot.

And I learned that Tupac was the "real, original gangsta." I thought that was Al Capone. What criminal empire did Tupac rule over?

Bro',

Just finished hearing the show, and the music was amazing! You guys have an absolutely fantastic live sound! Nice selection of tunes, and I liked your original songs quite a bit. So, when is the encore performance going to happen?

Great sets. I loved your music. I wanted to play along with my harmonica. And very much enjoyed the two songs you sang, especially the second one about the crazy guy. Great job.

Dan,
And a happy birthday to you. I forget again the acutal date, 8th or 7th. But I wanted to wish you the happiest of birthdays. May all your days be spiderless and scorpionless.

Kudos to you, Dan and Nick and Anthony. Caught the show last night and really liked the tunes, instruments and vocals. Have to agree with Ed, tho, about putting up with the rap music just to hear you! Scary tho, I actually found my foot tapping to one of their cuts! Thanks for the entertainment and hope to have the opportunity to catch you guys again.

What a strange dream unfolded on Saturday night. Someone kept saying, "Wake up, wake up. Dan's on the radio, wake up".
Aroused by the constant urging, dreams merged with faint recognition and rememberance of two half-hour sets kicked in. It seems from that point on my auditory senses were brutally attacked by crude lyrics, repeating tribal drumming and irritating noise beyond belief!
Weaving in and out of sleepydom, I was aware that the horrible sounds had stopped and blessedly wonderful music had taken its place.
With the profound feeling that my world had been returned to its normal course, sleep was fast to follow.
Sorry to have missed the bulk of your live performance, but at least I got to download the new version of Real Player so 'Cool Mama' could hear you live.
